SHOTLIST IDEAS

Here, I looked at the order of the shot-list for The North Face Gucci video and wrote them down so I could reflect on the type of shots they used and see if I could use similar shots to create my piece. I also looked at techniques that I could learn and include in my video.

Here, I organised the different types of shots I wanted to take before the shoot and orchestrated how they would work cohesively. I experimented with different outcomes and transitions. I wanted to play around with the different transitions and order of shots to ensure that I get the best outcome.

My very first rough cut, here I experimented with colour, music and different transition styles. I aimed to make the clip nostalgic and 'homemade'. To do this further I will try and get the footage to look more like old film by playing around with colour and adding texture.

#TheNorthFacexGucci Campaign

Unveiling the #TheNorthFacexGucci collection by Alessandro Michele in a campaign shot by Daniel Shea. Set in the Alps, the collaboration collection is worn by a group of hikers, who camp by the lakes in a trip to the great outdoors. The forests and peaks of the region form a vast and breathtaking scenic backdrop to the imagery, capturing colorful, candid moments of group activity reminiscent of holiday snaps. The campaign’s atmosphere evokes the aesthetic of the 70s, when The North Face was a thriving outdoor retailer based in Berkeley, California and shared a factory and storefront adjacent to Credence Clearwater Revival’s practice studio—whose iconic song ‘Bad Moon Rising’ is featured throughout the video campaign. The collection will launch in #GucciPins in China from December 29, touching down around the world in the first weeks of January. Beginning December 23, enter a special draw online for early access in some countries to the collection on Gucci.com. These were ideas that I constructed in the first brainstorm and wanted to execute initially. However, as time passed, these ideas changed.

I used these different settings and features because I wanted to really create a an old handcrafted feel, similar to the stimuli but in my own way. I made sure to keep the colours warm and bright to give the piece a happy, joyous feel.

After gaining feedback I noted that the 8mm box was subjective and may not have been necessary.

8MM FRAME BOX

When conducting more research I discovered that using a smaller frame is not uncommon with the North Face brand, consolidating my idea to use the frame despite mixed reviews from my audience.
